ed note: this is Brian posting. I heard from the old man on Friday, heading over to NY for this weekend’s show. He was looking forward to seeing you all, and I suspect by this point he’s relaxing after another good show. If you went, and are checking the site just afterward, let us know in the comments section!

Looks good guys. Though I think there should be more pictures of your beautiful children on here! Maybe the one of Brian and I “helping” to build the shop where all the magic happens? Just kidding. I look forward to reading your future posts. Love you.
Everything looks great! I must tell you how much I enjoy wearing Tom Burns jewelry. Every time that I wear a piece, I get a compliment–who doesn’t like that?
HOLLY: Good Call. If we could just get all those classics onto digital, we’d have something. Keep an eye out soon…
ASIA: Thanks for stopping by to say so! We hear that quite a bit… and agree 100% — who doesn’t like that!?!
I don’t even know what to say. Shock and awe have rendered me speechless! Seeing “Tom Burns” and “website” in the same sentence has me wondering…is the end of the world upon us? Oh no, wait, the Red Sox already won the world series under a total eclipse of the moon. I guess we have already entered the alternate reality universe. Anyway, nice to see you joining the techological era and making it easy for us to follow your tours!
My calsillica “Dancer” necklace from Tom Burns Jewelry is my favorite necklace in my vast collection. I worked for a jewelry vendor for 5 years in Northern California. I do have a vast collection and this one is by far my favorite! The calsillica piece itself is dark, unique and the colors are so vibrant! The “dancer” is so celebrated and truely dances on my neck. I love unique jewelry and this is just one of the reasons that I treasure this piece! Go Tom……..great work! It is so wonderful to wear your beautiful art!!
CLOVER: I know! I was thinking the same thing… but once you think about it, the website is actually a pretty sensible place to show off, and talk about the business. Thanks for stopping by
PATTI: That’s GREAT to hear, Patti… thanks for saying so. unique is what we aim for, and we love it when people treasure the work!
I still have my dolphin/amethyst ring and pendant set that I bought in the late ’80’s from Tom at the Gaithersburg fair. Now I make jewelry and I attend classes to basically use all the equipment there. I was interested in knowing what kind of torch set up Tom has- I have a room in my home (without doors) that I use as a workshop and I would love to buy soldering equipment. I also wanted to know how long has Tom been making jewelry and does he still make any dolphin pieces?
ANNIE: That’s great you you still have the amethyst pieces… especially because they (presumably) have so much history to them by this point.
To answer your questions, yes we still make dolphin pieces. Not a lot, but still some. You should come back to Gaithersburg this winter (or next spring)… we’ll pack one in for you!
We use oxygen-propane torches in the shop now (which we LOVE!), made by a company called Little Torch. You can get them from the Rio Grande catalog, though up until recently, we just used the straight propane ones you can buy nearly anywhere.
If you have any more questions, give Tom a call at 802.463.4143. He’s always happy to share whatever he knows with anyone trying to do something similar!
Hi Tom and Brian - So glad to hear from you. Cant wait to get the pendant. So many compliments in the ring. Maybe some day we can get some earrings that come close. Do you have any suggestions for earrings? I truly love the ring.
My address for the pendant -
Estelle Davis, 60 Crestwood Drive, Schenectady, NY 12306
Please keep me on your mailing list for future 2011 craft shows. Hope to see you over the summer.
Thanks for the call. Cant wait for the pendant.
Thanks, Estelle Davis
