Spring Show Recap

by tomburnsjewelry on 20 May 2009

I just finished the first couple spring Art and Crafts shows, both down in the Washington, DC area. I’m happy to report my sales were up from last year, even though I’m a little embarrassed to say it too. A couple people told me they were being more careful with their money these days, and were looking for true longterm value. They said they found it in jewelry (yay!), and I was real psyched that they also found it in mine.

It was a fun experience, and I even came home feeling good about the future. Maybe these days we’re all focusing a little harder on what’s good and true and lasting, and letting the ephemeral junk fall to the wayside. Maybe I feel a little bad for the people producing the ephemeral junk, who are struggling. But then I also hear a little voice whispering “good riddance.”

Coming up, I’ll be at the Woodstock - New Paltz and Adirondack shows the next two weekends. You can find more details in the right sidebar, with links to their sites (thanks to Brian!). If you’re planning on coming, or if you’re just coming back from them and looking at the site, leave a comment.  It’s new, so let us know what you think!
